So, yes, pictures and recap pending on a couple previous weekends, but a bit about this past one first.
Most of the weekend was pretty low energy for me.
Friday, I was wiped out and ended up sort of crashing after work and not really recovering much in the way of positive drive. After a bit of productive conversation about moods and how to manage things when we're not in the same space, I spent the evening fiddling around on a new laptop from work that's got graphics chip problems - sadly, cause it would be lovely for movies =\ while
catalyticdragon brushed up her
Hexic skills so she can challenge me one of these days ;) When I finally gave up on the laptop, we spent a couple hours exploring our music collection and putting together some driving music for our little road trip on saturday.
Saturday morning, we got a draggy start(one too many Jack and gingers(for me at least)). We ambled our way over to grab a Zipcar around 1 and then headed to the
Jewell Towne Vineyard for a tasting and picked up several bottles that I can't wait to try =) After the winery and a stop at a roadside stand with some tasty fresh apples, we trekked north to visit J&M and their girls. I was really happy to see them, as it's been about six months since I've seen them and they got to meet
catalyticdragon. We had a really great dinner at a little Italian place they knew of and it was nice to have a few hours to catch up and revisit some old stories again as well. We'll likely be seeing them again in a couple weeks as we've planned to take a day hike with J up Mt. Lafayette.
"Driving" rain is a complete misnomer. After spending two plus hours driving home through the remnants of Hanna, I have successfully refreshed my hard rain and fog and driving at night skills and added hydroplane navigation to my repertoire. We crumpled into bed around 2:30.
Sunday was pretty lazy.
catalyticdragon and I rolled out of bed late again and headed to Costco mid-afternoon to get some things and then came back a bit spent from that little endeavor(I always forget how frustrating and draining it is to be in a store filled with aimlessly ambling shoppers)...not much food didn't really help. I then spent a bit more time on the laptop(FTF) and then we watched
Equilibrium(one of my all-time favorites) followed by an introduction(for me) to
Torchwood(which I quite enjoyed but will likely need a couple episodes to get involved).
Actually got to bed earlyish last night and up earlyish this morning. I might actually see daylight when I get out of work =O Overall a productive day with work and play interspersed.
Life is good.
