The music from the balconies

This was pretty much the only painting in Tate Modern that I truly liked. The painting is made by Edward Ruscha, the quote is from High Rise, by JG Ballard. I dreamed about this paining last night: I was back in London and went to Tate Modern just to see it, but then I found out that someone had ruined & overpainted it with black. I rushed to one of the museum-people and told her someone had ruined the paining, but then she said that if you looked at it from a certain angle you could still see the original paining underneath all the black. In the same dream I also went to the library in London and discovered I was still a member and thought I should keep it that way, because they had all the books I still wanted to read (among which Vittorio the Vampire by Anne Rice). And earlier this week I dreamed of going to London with my Italian colleague D. Unfortunately everybody was throwing javelins (?) at us, and we forgot to buy a card with which we could travel for free for three days.

Basically this entry is just an excuse to post the painting, because I don't want to forget it exists.

painting, i had a dream
