The past few days have been nothing other than shit. First I feel like I'm stuck in Office Space before he gets hypnotized and learns to appreciate life. I worked Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun, and I have work tonight and tomorrow. They treat me like shit and the work is shit. The only reason why I stay is for the money. It's just so depressing. I have no time for anyone or anything. Then all my money goes to useless junk that isn't even mine. Stuff no one really needs. It is not essential to survival in the "hunger/gather" sense. I found out Sunday, but in denial, I did not accept the fate of my fallen classmate Mike Mchale. I would not say that Mike and I are ever the best of friends, not even good friends. Mike was just a guy in my homeroom for the past six years. I barely knew Mike. Last year he would torment Mrs. Pidich, the comp-sci teacher, and just make everyone laugh. I never saw him with out his devilish smile. He would always be in trouble for something stupid, but he got a laugh out of nonetheless. He would be getting screamed at and still have that smile on his face. I noticed this year he got quieter though. In my Psych/Soch class he barely talked. If he had no one to really talk to I’m not sure. I always thought of Mike as a great guy. Sure, he got into trouble at times, but who doesn’t? That doesn't make him a bad person. I don't know his home life or anything about him outside of school and I just know a little of his outer shell. I do not know what would possess him to take his life. I’m not saying there is a right or wrong answer to if he did. He will be missed though. Today made me think of a lot of things, Adam, my brother's best friend that died in November of 2002, my grandfather, the future, the past, the present, what impact I have or had on people, old friends, new friends that I’ve made, faith, if there is a god and why does he/she/it do this to people, good and bad memories, and every thing else you could think of I probably thought of it. It was just a long and hard day. I had my friends near me to try and brighten spirits. I’m not saying that I wanted to get around the grieving process; I just couldn't handle something like this again. I just wish it never happened and it was an "ordinary" day with nothing except Italians that think they could do math and a fat guy that that makes McDonald's references when he talks about economics. No one knows why we die or why we live... or why we're here... but we are here. We are here NOW. Live every day as if it were your last. No regrets.
