Things are happening. Quickly.
D and I are gettin' hitched in 3 weeks tomorrow. Every thing is falling into place nicely. There's still lots to do...lots of little details to iron out. A true DYI wedding. We're growing our own flowers, making/ growing all of our favors, arranging our own flowers, doing our own music, bottling our own wine, making our own wine labels (each one a different album cover)... But all is well. And I'm soooo excited to finally marry the love of my life! No more living in sin for this girl!
Two days after D makes an honest woman of me, he'll carry me over the threshold of our new (old) house! Yes. We finally bought a house. It's really big, really old, and really blue. It was built in 1908, and we're the 3rd owners. The current owners have only lived there for 1 year. The lady before lived in the house for 97 years. He Father built it. It's 1500 sq feet, not including the finish-able basement. 4 bedrooms & and office, 2 bathrooms, original claw foot bathtub, oak bannister stair case, stained glass windows, oak window frames and door frames...and a double lot, with a new 6 foot fence surrounding the yard. I love love love this house. We were a bit weary of the possible issues with a century old house, so we bit the bullet and had a home inspection done. $500 later, the home inspector walked out with a smile on his face, and declared that, for o home of this vintage, it is in fantastic shape. The biggest concern are the shingles, which he figure we have about 3 years left on...everything else looks great. So, as of September 1st, D and I will finally, officially be home owners.
Rumor has it that good things happen in threes. A couple of weeks ago I applied for a department of fisheries and oceans job. I've been applying for these jobs for years, and know that you never hear anything for months. I couldn't believe it on Monday morning when I got invited to do testing immediately. I did the testing last night, and I'm pretty confident that I did amazing and will get an interview. Oh, If only...I REALLY have my fingers crossed that I get this job.
Life really is good.
