What is your favourite constellation? The Pleiades. The sisters were the second constellation I was taught (after orion) and I still love them. How can you not love a constellation with so many interesting myths? I mean, look!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleiades_in_folklore_and_literatureWhat’s your favourite myth? Hard to choose. Maybe... no. I love all sun stealing/fire stealing myths. Raven, Prometheus, etc. I love them. And Pandora's Box. And the story of Lilith. And gosh I just love all myths wow.
Do you ever catch yourself singing when you didn’t know you were doing it? Sadly? Not as much as I used to. I used to be a canary. Now it feels like I've been in a quiet room for so long I've given up on my mate responding. I nearly never sing. When I do, it feels unnatural and kind of startles me into stopping. I sing when in pure content and when I am perfectly happy. I don't even laugh like I used to. Oh. Now I made myself sad...
What’s your favourite kind of Christmas cookie? Anything peppery and gingery. Peppernuts are apparently my birthday food, and I really really like them. With black pepper and cardamom oh yes. Well, and my Mom makes kissy cookies which are peanut butter cookies rolled in sugar with a hershey's kiss pressed in the top. And my Mommom used to make very thin rolled out sourdough cookies with cinnamon sugar on top. And I love all sour cookies like real snickerdoodles. My fave to make are rye cardamom cut cookies~ Not really sweet, more like a tea biscuit. And shortbread. Oh. That's a lot...
Have you ever gotten into a fight? I once bit a dude. Another time I hit a troll of a girl with a hand-held chalkboard and she threw me into a storage closet. I was shoved in a locker, I had my stuff taken, so I threw the bully's backpack in the trash, I was called a dog for the better part of two years, so I got into a lot of scuffles, I pull hair and throw stuff and say stupid shit that gets me punched. "I can go all day."
Never had a Bucky, though... that might have helped reduce the number of bruises...
What is the worst thing you’ve ever smelled? I used to volunteer at a natural history museum. They had preserved specimens and I thought the decay and embalming fluid was bad until the bird department showed me their demastid beetles they kept out back to strip carcasses. That. Is a unique and singular smell.
What is the best thing you’ve ever smelled? Warm yeasty bread and melted salted butter. Or my curry powder blend in chicken coconut curry. Or hyacinths in bloom.
Who would win: Indiana Jones or Han Solo? Why? Not... I don't really like Indie that much and I always thought Han was a jerk when I was younger and it impacts how I see him now. Can... can I answer a question with a question? Who would win between Thor on a viking ship and Aquaman if both were at sea in a storm?
Most ridiculous wivestale you’ve ever heard? I don't even know. Did you know that a remedy for the plague was to hang the entrails of a split puppy around your neck? That sounds pretty ridiculous and cruel and gross and barbaric.
Favourite kind of pizza? I keep chasing the perfect pizza: Chewy interior, but very crisp to the point of burnt patches on the bottom. You should have to crack it to fold it. A loose, savory sauce which is well herbed with dry oregano and fresh basil. Good, salt,y cheese and possibly salty ham in the form of prosciutto or dry pepperoni that is well cooked. I love bubbles in my crust and eat them first. Cant beat a good NYC style pie.either. No deep dish. That's a sin. Roman pizza or bust. Oh no, I'm hungry now...
What colour would you want to paint your dream front door? The garden should be wild, with all sorts of evergreens and flowers that cloy with smell and herbs that scent underfoot and fruit trees and hedges made of berries and roses twining with honeysuckle to eat the house, and tumble around it. The house should be a natural color like wood or cob or painted a deep forest green, topped with red or terracotta or red clay or thatch roof. And the door should be harvest gold or turmeric yellow and always, ALWAYS, have a wreath of real greens. I love to make wreaths and I would make daisy-chains of flowers and little found wild things to wind through it. Lush, warm, natural, and feathers, flowers, notes from visitors, and butterfly wings should be tucked inside: Bird's nests and bits of wasp nests and red berries, holly, rosemary, rue, and lobed white berried mistletoe in winter, little snowdrops and wilting purple crocus blooms tucked into pussy willow and forsythia branches in spring, huge crowns of wildflowers in summer that look like they planted into the door, and grass seedheads knotted into plaits with crow feathers, oak leaves, and marigold blooms to scrunch into the gaps. Yes. Good.
