Fallout motherfucking 3 !!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah... so, my big industrial dance party got canceled due to Karma closing down, but Fallout 3 was released on October 28th, a day before my birthday, and what does my romantic boyfriend do, but go and by it for me, presenting it to me at midnight!! I can honestly say that I am not even so bummed about my party being canceled anymore because I have this game... that is how good it is, I am in bliss.
I have been playing the Fallout series since the 90's, back when it was only released on computers. Fuck Fable- they proclaim that they are the first truly interactive RPG that allows the players to choose their own paths to fame or infamy, but Fallout has been around for many years, and is definitely more lenient than Fable with how you can interact within the game, and the stats you choose have far more profound of a difference on your character than Fable.
It is a post apocalyptic RPG, your character goes chasing after your Father that leaves the "vault" an underground structure & community made to protect people from Fallout. You have never ventured outside before, and find that a sprawling wasteland awaits, with all kinds of shanty towns, each with their own special situations and dramas, and you can navigate through them all, helping people or hurting them as you please. Or you can say, screw all that social interaction and roam the wastes, killing creatures and raiders and the like, and only go into town to buy supplies. It's up to you, totally...
You can make your way through the game being a scrawny weakling with a penchant for science and repair, or be a powerhouse specializing in guns and weaponry. I chose to be a charismatic girl character with a high speech skill, essentially smooth talking my way through the game, then stealing and picking everyone's pockets when they least suspect it.
I would write more about the scale of awesomeness regarding this game, but I think I am going to go play as Aria is looking like she needs a nap, haha.
If I'm not careful, this game will take over my life.
