Good Dad Award
Bob spent a half an hour on hold yesterday, conferencing with Devan and Blue Cross to sort out the pre-existing conditions they wanted to impose and to decide what to do about insurance for Devan. What a guy!
When he told me about it I regretted that I had already awarded my Good Dad Award to Vicki's husband, Tom. Vicki said that on Wed. night their teen-aged daughter was freaking out that she had a major paper due the next day which she had not even started beyond having an idea for it. In her defense, she'd had an emotional week. One of her good friends attempted suicide. Tom, who was falling asleep on the couch, sprang into action. He is the librarian at U of O and an excellent writing teacher. Off they went to the library where they spent the entire night cranking out the paper. Vicki heard them return at 4 am, laughing.
I raise my heart to great and wonderful dads everywhere who go the extra distance for their kids.
