She's the President of Ireland. Why do I know this? Why do I care?
Last weekend, when we checked in to the Embassy Suites in Portland, the porter asked us if we were with the Irish group. He was very circumspect, but finally let out that the President of Ireland was staying there, so expect lots of security and cops.
Neither of us even knew who the president of Ireland was (shame on us), so we looked it up.
There was a huge event in the lobby of the hotel on Saturday, with hours of Step Dancing!
We're a little surprised that she would stay at Embassy Suites. Sure, it is a very nice hotel, but Head of State quality? I guess everyone is economizing these days.
