I often hate busy weekends … but I had a good one, so yay! Friday after work I went grocery shopping since I decided to make another dinner for the family. Afterward, I went over to Diane’s house to chat with her and her mother about the Bridal shower and set a date (August 14th!) as well as the Bachelorette weekend. We talked a little about things, but mostly I went through Diane’s “planner” with her and we noticed she has yet to do a lot of stuff, so I got her to promise to work on it all with her future husband … and am expecting a progress report when I return from the cruise! (Which still gives her 3 weeks!).
By the time I got out of there it was 7:30! So, it was going to be a late dinner. I ended up making Asian Djon chicken with couscous and baked zucchini chips and broiled shrimp in a delicious sauce I found online (almost looks like tartar sauce, but it isn’t). Pictured below … the chips looked a little burned, but they were perfect and so DELICIOUS! Actually, the whole meal was delicious (everyone really enjoyed it).
It was so late by the time we finished eating/hanging out at my brother’s, that we just slept over there.
Saturday was the brunch with the bridesmaids and Diane. I admit I was dreading it a little because of the ‘one’ bridesmaid that’s been kind of crazy since finding out she was in the wedding party … but surprisingly, it was a wonderful time and she was really cool. I think Diane may have told her to reign in her crazy lol because she came off quite cool. The food was delicious too so w00t! Afterward, we walked around a little bit as it was a half-decent day (only slightly chilly). I had the scrambled eggs with spinach and peppers, potatoes and cornbread as well as a mimosa (nomnom).
Yes, those are eyeball salt/pepper dispensers lol ... they were all decked out for Halloween, even their menu.
Then Trisha, Diane and I went to Target and I bought some stuff for the cruise (a few ‘travel-sized’ things I forgot). We went our separate ways and I went shopping with my mom since she needed some clothes for the cruise. I ended up buying her a couple of things (much to her protest but tough nuggets) … and got home about 10PM … Stayed up watching Netflix lol.
Sunday was more shopping pretty much all day (my feet still hurt cuz I wore uncomfortable shoes, ugh). Then I hung out with the folks before I hit the hay and passed out early lol …
So yeah, productive and fun weekend.
Yesterday was actually crazy busy at work, which is never the case (well, rarely), this far into the semester... I was shocked. I had a few mailings that someone decided to give me last minute, so that took up my whole morning, and then we had a meeting that ended up taking up three hours of my afternoon. By the time I go home and did some chores around the house, it was gym time. LOL
Trisha was able to go with me last night and she took me through some of the training her trainer puts her through and I can feel it more in my legs today than ever. I may have to add that routine into my normal one (because what I do makes me feel it a lot more in my arms). Switch it off and on between the days.
Overall, a great/productive past few days! I have some catching up to do to! :D
