When vacuum filtrating acetaminophen for the purpose of creating dulcin, I have to get rid of the starch that binds the phenacetin together. When I filtrate the starch, the carbohydrate will clump together and slow down the filtration process to a high degree. I must not use the faucet with low water pressure (CURSE YOU, SECOND FLOOR LABORATORIES!) as it is not conducive to increasing the speed of filtering the solution for recrystallization. Pump machine is my friend.
I normally run to Twitter for this stuff, but this is beyond the 140-char. limit and I needed to let it out...
Je suis trés fatiguée.
Also, I'm meeting a lot of older alumni from my alma mater. I now know why we don't have a football team and the knowledge does not lend to creating slightly fonder memories of said institution. To quote Coach Mike, "They can kiss my ass."
=D I may not have completed what I was there for, but am I ever glad to be out of that school!
Bring it. This kind of pressure I can use to synthesize for energy. >=D
