Silver Kingdom Festival

I'm skipping tonight's bellydance class because I was too tired migrane-y to get my act together, even 5 minutes AFTER class was supposed to start.

Of course, I should sleep. But now I just keep thinking of everything around my house that has to get done!!

The world has been busy bellydance-wise, including one RIDICULOUS 24 36 hours.. I worked 7am to 4:45pm (flat out..I switched departments as of today, and I wanted it all DONE and my desk PACKED, DAMMIT!), came home sewed with Baseema from about 7ish until 2:30 AM, then got up at 6:30AM and danced three 25 minute sets at a Ren Faire in the pouring rain. The picture is from Sunday, which was NOT in the pouring rain. The festival was alot of fun, and I hope we can do more ( maybe bring more people??)

Today I started a new job at work... or, well, I *should* have, but I mostly just moved my desk and did work for my old department. It was pretty stressful having a new boss after a weekend like that, but he seems pretty cool. Which is good, what with my old boss still needing me to finish some stuff up for the old department! I also have better hours, and a super-spify department name. Data Integrity. Suits me much better than "Procurement - Packaged Meat", I think!

I'm also flattered because it turns out that not only were R and I *picked* for this job (I'd thought I'd elbowed my way in..), but they also have me sitting right in the "geek box" itself, because they want me to work on their projects! The smart kids picked me for their team! I think my boss was sweeping it under the rug when he talked to me because he didn't want to lose me... I think I should be mad, but really, the experience of trying to network my way into a position was good for me. It's also hard for me to be mad when I see him pulling his hair out not EVEN "doobie-doobie-dooo"ing about it. He even said "It's just packaged meat"... when he usually says the wittier "It's just dead animals". It's also quite the exercize in boudaries.

It's thundering and lightning outside, but the ground is barely damp. This is probably good because I desperately need to go get milk & cereal....

Oh yeah, and my windows are open....

work, performance
