Went out to Boston this past weekend.. The Family was in town. Well, we were still 3 of her siblings down, but that still puts more than half of them in one place. So they, and current SOs, and two of my cousins, and some of my mom's cousins all went to dinner Friday night.

Sometime in some shower, I realized that part of the nervousness I have in dealing with my mom's family is that they're ALL rather liberal cutting-edge sorts. And the problem with people like that is that we love to go right up to that sharp edge, but anything two steps beyond is really radically over the line. So you want to be all Supa Liberal to fit in, but then you're left wondering if you just made yourself the Freak. You know.

My cousin M. broke up with her guy, and her mom got us all to tell her to move to Providence (where her mom lives). You know you all want another goth gamer chick in New England! So I'm kinda excited about that.

My cousin R. dropped her myspace profile into the conversation. I tried to find it, but didn't have any luck. Aunt G-Q-C (her Cambridgite mother) suggested that we should put together a family forum. Which would be great, but how to do it without leading anyone here? (I feel I should note that it isn't that I expect my chances of family finding this to be nil (I think I have less than 3 degrees from another cousin's good friend's journal) but I don't believe in LEADING folk here)

AND on that less-family friendly side... I was ecstatic that I finally fit back in the dress I have on in my icon (not that you can see much of it there..) and I wore it out to the club Saturday. I think that by the end of the night, everyone there probably knew that I was wearing black undies, but that's better than some alternatives!

My "Elder Goth" moment of the night was when I was talking to a be-winged girl about how cute her matching wings/sneakers were. After noting the "X" on her hand, I was VERY relieved to note that the "Shadow" she came with was NOT the one I knew... because I think he's younger than I am, and he'd STILL be too old for her!

As always, that's just a glimmer, but some of it I don't feel like writing about and on some of it the timing isn't right, so I'll just move on, now...

(PS, Happy Beltane! It seems the veils are thin early this year....)
