Giles gen fic recommendation
Normally I'm not much of a fan for Giles gen fics. I need romance, I need smoochies (a lot of them) and I need Buffy. However there is one gen fic which is sooo wonderful. It's "Chance Meeting" , the very first part of the Roger and Paul Series by Rari Coss.
Truth to be told my first read was an accident cause I thought it was a Buffy/Giles fic. (Well it is a B/G fic but only in the later installments.)
There is something really beautiful about the way Rari describes how two brothers are seeing Giles regularly at their favorite bar and are trying to get to know this mysterious man who always sits alone with an ancient looking book at a table in the corner. It breaks my heart when Rari describes how Giles so desperately wants to get to know the brothers and play darts with them and at the same time knows that they will be in danger if he gets too involved with them.
I love the idea of Giles having friends his own age and even if I think that the later installments fail big time in comparison to this first part and the second part ("The power of friends") I recommend you this fic strongly. Probably the most of you have read it already but all you others out there please please read it!! :)
