LOVE ACTUALLY (Richard Curtis, 2003, UK)

I do not like romantic comedies. I mean, I don't like movies, and then, I dislike romantic comedies even more than that. That said, this dislike applies to the class, not each individual item, and so it is not completely unreasonable that my favorite movie, Big Edan, is, in fact, a romantic comedy. Still, I do not like them.

This movie rocks. I love it. I want to watch it again. I am thinking about buying a copy.

Anyway, I sat down expecting to stand back up again and wander off when the movie got annoying, but it never did. I wanted to see all of it. It's sweet, and engaging, and, despite being made up of unreal things, very very real. I mean, these are movie stories, but done in a way to gets right into the heart of real life. The emotions are real even if the stories are populated by amazing coincidences and stunningly beautiful people.

Plus, the way the stories are woven together is lovely. It made me want to watch the movie again almost immediately, because I was sure I'd missed things. I didn't, but I should watch it again soon.

Later I expect I'll want to watch it again just because it makes me feel good, like Big Edan. Also, it might be fun to show to other people.
