Tonight someone said "Thank You" to me.

Upon reading the words written one might think that was very polite and pretty commonplace and not something to be remarked upon at all.

Except....

they didn't pronounce the "thank" with a soft "th".  They used a hard "th".  So instead of "th" like in "think" it was "th" as in "they".  Say it out loud.  "Thank You".  It felt like a cheese grater on my eardrums.

Am i way off base here?  Should simply be happy that my efforts were appreciated and that it was verbalized rather than shuddering inwardly?
