Talk Laptop To Me
It seems I am pathetically behind the known universe in that I've never owned a laptop before. Yes, I know. They have always been too cost inhibitive for me, though since the prices seemed to have dropped dramatically, I'm considering buying a refurbished or economically priced cheap new one. While I'm usually good at hunting for PCs, this laptop business is all very new and shiny to me, and I literally know next to nothing, save that you need a wi-fi card for your internetz.

Can anyone rec me a good brand/model that is reasonably priced, and/or also please explain to me how this whole wi-fi thing works. I'd be a very appreciative technologically impaired idiot :)
