Title: A Day In Our Lives, Drabble series 1/5
Genre: Comedy
Pairing: None, Chibi Arashi.
Rating: PG
Summary: A Day in a tutor's life. What would it be like, to have Arashi as your student?
A small sigh escaped from the mouth of a twenty four year old girl as she buried her head in the pillow after shutting the alarm clock up. It was 8.00am, and it was a Sunday. To many, Sundays are days that should be spent idling around at home, having a hearty brunch, followed by TV serial marathons, or out in the malls, checking out the latest items in their favourite shops. However, for that girl, Sundays are the most horrible days in the week. She has to work from morning to night, with only 20 minutes to eat her lunch, and no time for her dinner until she reaches home at 10pm. Can't be helped, she is a private tutor.

At 9.50am sharp, she pressed on the door bell of a modest looking house. Tuition starts at 10am, but she always try to be early, in case anything should cause her to be late. Despite her morning inertia, the tutor loves her job and she would always try to give it her best. She tapped her feet impatiently on the ground when it wasn't answered after a minute, and she tried again. Finally, a chubby little boy opened the door slowly, while trying to stifle a yawn. The tutor took a deep breath, and followed him into his room. This marked the start of the busiest day in her week.
She entered a simple looking room, furnished with nothing but a single bed, a study table, a chest of drawers by the bed, and a small wardrobe. The young boy sat down on one of the chairs at the study table, and the tutor follow suit. She started off by asking him to hand in the homework that she had assigned him to. The boy stared at her blankly, before opening his eyes wide when he finally registered what his tutor had just said. He rummaged through his pile of books and papers on his desk, only to pull out a few pieces of paper, and handed them to her. It took her a few moments to recognize that those were the worksheets that he was supposed to do for homework. The first sum was done perfectly well, the second was done halfway, and the rest of the papers were covered in drawing. A few macho looking man with large spiky-ish looking hair, fist clenched, and flames all around them.
"What is this?" the tutor asked.
"Dragonball" the boy answered simply.
"I know, but aren't you supposed to do the sums on the paper instead of doodling all over it?"
The young boy shrugged, and continued remaining silent, with a faraway look on his face. The tutor sighed, and flipped the Math Textbook open.
"Let's revise on pecentages today!" the tutor tried using a cheerful voice, "Ok, let's say, 4 students like playing basketball, 5 students like playing baseball, 6 students like playing badminton and 5 like playing volleyball, what is the percentage of students that like playing basketball?"
The student took out his notebook, and started scribbling something. The tutor looked through his schoolwork as she gave him some time to finish his sum. However, 5 minutes passed, and there still wasn't any answer coming from the boy. The tutor took the book from the boy to take a closer look. Instead of numbers, she saw the same macho man, this time, dangling from a basketball hoop after completing a slam dunk. She sighed inwardly, but she did not give up.
"Ok, let's put it another way. Satoshi kun went fishing, and he caught 4 hamachi, 5 sake, 6 maguro and 5 tai...." She noticed that the boy's face suddenly lit up, and sat a little straighter, she smirked, and continued, "What is the percentage of the fishes that he caught were hamachi?"
"20 percent" came the immediate respond. "and 30 percent of what I caught were maguro! That is amazing, ne?" The boy chuckled to himself.
The tutor and the boy spent the next two hours tackling more challenging math problems, with the boy challenging to solve the problems, and the tutor challenging to change the context of all the problems, so that they involve fishes, art materials, or dragonball.
AN: Had not been posting for a long long time. Currently working on a fanfic (a few, actually) but I am reluctant to post it until I am completely satisfied with it. One of which is about war, and spies, and I really like that one, just that I can't seem to move on from where I have left it...sigh...I have been playing with the idea for this short series for a long time, and this is something close to my life. I will update every week with the next part of the series. Please comment to tell me what you think about it? thanks!
