A Note To Myself

Jan 28, 2009 00:08

Dear Candace,

He is not worth your tears.  It may seem like he is now, and I understand that you believe he is a good guy, but please don't fret.  One day, a brilliant man is going to sweep you off your feet.  You won't even see it coming.  But when it happens,  it will be so perfect, way better than you ever imagined.  You'll think back to Alex, Chris, Jason, and wonder who they were.  You won't even understand why you liked them.  You see, it seems so hard right now.  It seems like this future you've been dreaming of will never happen.  But Love is a playful child that refuses to be found.  Just relax and allow her to find you.  Don't worry, you'll know when it happens.  The process will be so natural, and so easy, you'll understand why she's called Love.  There will be no questions, no wondering if he likes you back.  You'll know for sure.  He'll show you not only through his kiss, and how he looks at you, but through his actions as well.  He'll make excuses just to see you.  Proudly parade you around for all the world to see.

The best part is, you'll like him back.  You'll love him back.  Uncontrollably.  When you're with him, everything will make sense.  You won't understand how you ever lived without him.  All your friends will love him, and family.  They'll understand why the two of you fit so perfectly, and so will you.  And you know what?  You'll look back at your undergraduate years at Philadelphia University, and the long list of boys that you were "in love" with, and you will see with so much clarity exactly how wrong you were.  How wrong they were for you.

So don't fret.  Your time will come.  There is no rush, so just relax and enjoy your time now, because these are the years you will not get back.  Try not to forget that school is your priority.  And don't you dare forget how beautiful you are.  Both inside and out; you bring unbelievable joy to the world.  And to be honest, until you fully understand that, Love won't be able to find you.

Take it easy, darling.  I love you!

Sincerely,
Candace

P.S.  Hell yes the PA Program is scary.  Intense, wayy more than camping.  It's hard work, but you will get through it.  With the help of your friends, and your wonderful determination, you will make it to the PA-S phase.  No joke, it's even written on a personalized lab coat.  Candace Stewart, PA-S.  And August 2012, you do get your certificate.  It will be one of the proudest moments of your life.  Like a battle you won, or a math problem finally solved, you will feel so accomplished and satisfied.  Don't get me wrong, you'll still be thirsty for more, but you will have made it through one of the most difficult hurdles.  So for everyone's sake (ie. all of the lives you save, and change) DON'T GIVE UP.  This is only the beginning.  It will get worse, but it will be a lot of fun.  And it is all worth it to see your name on a little business card, next to the doctor's name and a perfectly designed emblem: Candace K. Stewart, PA-C  (Busting mine to save yours.)
