A bit of comment on this poem: I may be adding in one more verse to include herbs with the seasonal harvesting. This poem came to me while sitting in a workshop discussion at Circle Sanctuary, and yes, it is titled Lammas Day. (Later in the evening I was asked to read it during the ritual.)
Green and gold,
The corn grows tall,
Basking in golden sun,
Swaying gently in cooling breeze,
Brightness brilliance shining,
Harvesting begins.
Purple red
Berries ripen,
Sun warmed juiciness,
Laden branches gather by
Cool green shadowed woods,
Harvesting begins.
Blue to gray,
Twilight approaches,
And so we gather
To celebrate and share
What we have harvested
This Lammas Day.
