Corporate-controlled "democracy"
All those dystopian depictions of a future where mega-corps exercise totalitarian control over everything, including the government? Today was the day that horror scenario started.

In one fell swoop, the U.S. Supreme Court just gutted every major element of campaign finance reform and effectively gave the American government to the highest bidder. And the bidder doesn't even have to be American. Or a real person. In effect, control of the American government was just given to the most greedy and unethical multi-national corporation with something to gain.
WTF ever happened to "we the PEOPLE"- you know, the whole government "by the people, for the people" bit?!? I am so disgusted and heartbroken by this, and it's implications, that I can't even begin to express it...
