Kel's birthday

Yesterday was Kel's birthday, and it was a magickal day indeed. I woke to a world wrapped in six inches of beautiful white snow and the air filled with flying white flakes. This winter's only significant snowfall came in celebration of my beloved's emergence into the world.

The drive to work was rather trecherous, the roads stillcovered in snow over a broken layer of ice. With such weather, most of my clients cancelled their session so I was able to leave work even earlier than I had planned to spendeven more of the day with Kel. We drove down to Hobby Lobby and found some amazing sales on watercolor paints and Kolinsky sable brushes, some almost $20 on sale for $2. After that we made a quick stop at the doctor's office and then had a wonderful dinner at Red Lobster- lobster pizza, clam chowder, fried shrimp, shrimp scampi, shrimp alfredo, margaritas, and at the end a suprise chocolate birthday cake with a glowing pink candle.

After dinner, we headed quite full-bellied over to a small park near my office and Kel and I went sledding down a hill covered in snow. It was a thrilling time full of irresistable squals of laughter and child-like joyousness. It was Kel's first time ever sledding, and something I had not done since my own childhood.

I'm so happy that I got to spend this birthday with Kel, and I'm looking forward to many many more with her in the future.

snow, birthday, kel
