Moving

Other than a couple hours of broken napping this afternoon, I've been awake for 38 hours... but I'm finally in my new apartment.

I signed the lease yesterday morning, stayed up all night packing, and moved my stuff in today. I am now too exhausted to even be sleepy, my back is aching intensely, my shoulder is giving the occasional shooting pain from the pulled muscle I managed... and I am hopeful and happy.

My new place is less than half the size of my last place, and I am having to get rid of a great deal of stuff that I've accumulated over the past several years. In a way, its stressful, but in another way it's very liberating. It feels like I'm exfoliating old shreds of life now dead and burdensome. I'm actually feeling rather ashamed of having accumulated so much material baggage, and somewhat daunted by the task of getting rid of all of it.

I also got my passport today. I've never even seen a passport before, and now suddenly I have one. I got my annual bonus on Friday, so now all I need is tickets for the flights and I'll be all set for my trip down under!
