This has, over the summer, become one of my favorite songs.

A perfect French song. I really like songs in languages I don't understand, I'm able to project so much in to something so tiny. Pop songs as mystery signs.
William Gibson turned me on to this video from his blog. I'm nearly done with his Spook Country and I must say I'm in love. Not nearly as good as Pattern Recognition, but a great extension of a post-science fiction aesthetic nonetheless. Genre fiction without the genre, if you will. SF's relationship to establishment literature is even more strained in a very strange way. The New Yorker had a piece on Philip K. Dick, attempting to displace his rise as the most important and influential writer of the 20th century. I'm still amazed that Mr. Gopnik can call Dick at once brilliant and a 'bad writer.'

I make my nyc move in little over a week. I can sense a head long rush of information overload.
