Once again I put off posting, and my do I have some stuff to catch you up on.
Only a few days after my last post, which included complaints about how hard it is to find someone to date, I did just that. I went to a performance by another ftm at an LGBTQ youth center with my roommate and was introduced to a friend he's known for years. It's turned into a relationship and I'm so lucky to have her in my life. She works at the youth center as the Development Director, which means she schmoozes with rich people and convinces them to donate money to after school programming for queer kids in the city. She's a little older than me but I feel like we have something really special even though it's been just 3 months. Plus she's adorable and when I'm not with her I want to be.
Another noteworthy addition: my last vial of hormones was stolen off my front porch. Some intelligent FedEx worker decided my neighborhood was safe and left the package. Lovely. I paid for it twice, though in actuality, my girlfriend (whose name is Alyssa, by the way) paid for it twice. It pisses me off.
Staying at Alyssa's house led to another discovery. My pacemaker/defibrillator had been beeping at the same time every morning and I never noticed. After calling the doctor, they asked to see me immediately. Long story short, I ended up having two surgeries in 3 days. I'm just now recovering. The first surgery was in a catheter lab, but there were complications and the faulty wire (that had fractured) could be switched but not removed. The second surgery was for removal and required a surgical laser. Alyssa stayed with me in the hospital for 5 days and dealt with all the transphobia that occured there. I won't go into detail about that.
Today I had a job interview at Boston Market. Not my ideal position, but I am in absolutely no position to be picky. Thank god my roommate was able to help me with this because unemployment has been getting to me pretty badly lately. I'm going in for another interview tomorrow but I was already offered the job. This is also great because my nights at the bar were just cut back to 2 instead of 3.
I guess that's that.
