Maybe a stray needle or two, but I've used all my thread.

It is just your elbow though, I think your coat will survive for a while if you don't find anything.

Yeah, it'll be fine. Just thought I'd get the small nuisances out of the way.

Anything to help pass the time right?

That, and it's cold. That's not something I'm all that accustomed to.

Yeah, it's been taking me quite a while to get used to that too. Not to mention pain and having to take time to heal.

At least I can swim again.

[ assumes he came from a fight or something ]

...Why couldn't you swim?

It's... kind of an annoying side-effect of my abilities.

You see, I ate a larger version of those fruit I had. It permanently grants a user some sort of power. Mine was a Logia type, meaning it gave me an elemental ability.

I normally can control fire. More than that, I pretty much AM fire. If you shot me, the bullet would pass right through.

But all Devils Fruit users lose the ability to swim. We become paralyzed, sink and often drown.

The one thing this chip is good for is giving that luxury back. Too bad it's so damn cold out. Though the water's not so bad, it's the air that gets ya. Had to go in after my brother the other day.

[ at least he can believe you about the brother part ]

I can't say I'd find swimming all that useful, so if I could give that ability up to be able to get my fire back, I'd do it.

...

What kind of fruit lets you levitate things?

{Yeah, he doesn't always expect people to believe him.}

Heh, well, when you live the life of a pirate swimming is pretty key. I learned to work around it though.

But I hear you, if I could find this damn chip it'd be gone in no time.

So you're a fire user too?

Hn... sounds like a Paramecia type.

Pirate, huh? [ the closest thing Axel knows about that is going to Neverland, which he's assuming is not where Ace is from, since apparently most pirates swim on Ace's world, and most pirates Axel's seen are probably too incompetent for that. ] You must be a good one.

I guess back home, I'm kind of like you. Just about everyone who wears one of these coats has a unique element. Had to give away something to get it, but I didn't get that ability back with my chip. [ at least, he doesn't think so, and the others definitely didn't. ]

[ arches a brow ] Your world has a complicated system.

Yeah, I'm pretty well known where I'm from.

Oh yeah? {The way he talked about it sounded pretty personal if he didn't state it right off. Either that or it was a severe weakness. He didn't blame him and wouldn't ask just yet. They barely knew each other.}

Sorry to hear you couldn't get it back. Makes the chip all the more annoying for you I guess. With luck we'll find the new location soon.

Haha, well, I don't know about that. We Devil Fruit types are kinda rare. We're seen as monsters and freaks. Many of us are hunted for our abilities. Either we work for the Marines, Hide, or become Pirates.

...So, the people on your world who eat these fruit hide or take up careers that sound like they involve swimming?

That's pretty inconvenient.

So long as you don't fall in, you're fine. I personally traveled around on a one man skiff. {That's right, Alone out on the ocean.}

It's not so bad once you get used to it.

I guess not. What's it called? If I go home, I might have to visit it.

{Funny thing that, Oda never named the world :| But he's distracted anyway.}

You can visit other worlds?
