The question was raised in English class, "Can 'good' people do 'bad things', and still be considered 'good'?" When it comes down to it, I put myself in this position, sure, in my 16 years of living, I've done a good amount of dumb things, gotten in trouble for it, thought about it, learned from my mistakes and moved on. Now, the question is still in the air, am I good a person?! Of course I am, I'd like to consider myself honest, affectionate, loyal, and trustworthy. That may sound like a load of crap, but I'd like to consider it true. i think what the problem is, is that everyone has the potential to be a good person, its just a matter of how we go about being a good person. Like in psychology, I learned that everyone is born good. Obviously, it wouldn't make sense to consider a new born a 'bad' child, when it hasn't done anything wrong to understand the concept of being 'bad'. Going back to what I was saying, everyone has the potential to be a good person. The choices we make, the environment that we were raised in/grew up in, the people we choose to be friends with, all have an influence onto our lives. The idea that we tend to forget is, that we have a choice, we have the choice to become whomever we want to become, and sometimes we don't because of the biological factors. But that shouldn't stop any of us in the least! We have control of our lives, and like I've said before, we have the control to become whomever we want o become, but always be true to yourself. Meaning, don't create the person you think you want to become, be the person that you want to become. Does this make any sense? haha! It's important for us to make ourselves better human beings, but what's the fun in being someone, if you didn't have your own unique qualities?!
So is it possible? "Can 'good' people do 'bad' things, and still be considered 'good'?"
Situations may vary.
