5. Mun Prompt: Did you choose your muse or did they choose you? What was the process like in getting to know your muse?
I went to see Grind House opening night. I had been itching to see it like crazy. We all piled into the theater some of us Tarantino buffs, others there for the horror. I was there for the car crashes. I’ve always loved good movie car wrecks. The moment Mike slid those keys across the table to Pam it was like I was socked with a hammer. He was there and talking. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised to have such an impact from a man who crashes cars. (I know bad pun) It only got worse as the movie went on. I was never so disappointed with a movie ending as I was to see Mike die. I wanted him to crawl away beaten so I could imagine him crawling back to kill his attackers. That plot was already raging before Death Proof was over.
He must have chosen me because after seeing the movie he refused to shut up. I resisted him as long as I could but in the end I obviously caved in.
