Butterfly had been simply going through the days. Getting Thomas ready for school, making sure that dinners were cooked and breakfasts ready. She was fine, really she was. She just hated this. Perhaps it was the pregnancy getting to her, or the fact she was scared that she was so close.

When she heard him call her name a part of her didn't want to answer him, but the part of her that loved him won out "Hmm?" She glanced up from her spot on the bed. She looked like crap somewhat but that was only because she felt sick, the necklace proudly laying against her bare skin still

Mike stared at her for a long time after she answered. He didn't want to be here but like her love made people crazy and do things they didn't want to.

Can we talk?

She st her book down that she'd been reading and tilted her head, scooting over on the bed to give him some more room. "Of course." She had a few things to say too, something she'd been mulling over for quite some time

Mike came in and sat beside her. He didn't say anything at all. He wasn't sure where to start but he did put his arm around her. He missed holding her. They still weren't sleeping in the same bed and he was starved for contact with her aside from anything else going on in his mind.

She settled against him easily, giving a small contented sigh wrapping her one arm around him. "I'm sorry. For not listening and understanding."

Mike held her close and still wasn't sure what to say so he started with the obvious. I don't want to kill you but.... some days...

"I know, I should have listened." She sighed a bit and slipped up a bit holding onto him she looked at him.

I... Mike stopped speaking and took a deep breath. I stopped sleeping in here when I started wanting to smother you. I didn't want to but I really did.

Mike for once looked absolutely helpless.

Butterfly silently listened, giving a nod of her head. "I knew something was wrong." She gave a small wrinkle of her nose a moment. "I know a part of you will always want that." Hell even she thought she should be dead. She should have died that night with her friends. "We'll get through this."

I don't want to want it. Not with you. Mike was thinking about all the people he killed. He wanted to kill more but not her, not anymore.

I'm not ready for this. It's making it harder.

She glanced up at him and sighed "I'll try to keep Thomas as unattached from you until you're ready to try.

Mike just shook his head but it was obvious what she suggested wasn't something he was willing to do. All he could think about was how much his dad didn't want him and didn't want him to be himself. He wouldn't do it to Thomas.

She smiled and then nodded. as if silently understanding and didn't say anything. "I don't think anything can make me happier besides having you Mike."

Mike squeezed her a bit and spoke sadly. I don't know if I can ever be happy.

"Even if you can't, you can have the sense that you make someone else happy."

Mike looked down at her and scowled but he wasn't quite angry.
