I think I'm still really upset about them moving Voodoo Fest to Texas...mostly because it ruined my 21st birthday which just so happens to be on Oct. 30th...someone tell me something comfornting..:/
VAMPIRE STRIPPER SLUTS FROM OUTER SPACE
They are trying to get the French Quarter up and running as soon as
possible. Since we have 70-80 employees that probably need money, my first
option is to try and pull it off in New Orleans. Other options included
moving it to the same place as Voodoo or something even closer to New
Orleans. At this time, I am not offering refunds for this show.
UPDATE
There is about a 90% chance that VSSFOS will be taking place in New
Orleans as planned so hold on to your tickets.
VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE
We are hard at work on a relocation plan for the 2005 Voodoo Music
Experience. Developments currently in progress are a new festival site and
city, as well as a shift in ambition, as Voodoo aspires to raise funds
for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. The goal of this year's
event, still set for Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30, will be
to raise funds (details TBA) for supporting those in need and to aid in
the rebuilding and preservation of the culture and heritage of New
Orleans, which has served as home to Voodoo for the past six years.
We want to be a part of the rebuilding process of New Orleans and we
are dedicated to preserving the unique musical identity of our great
city, says Stephen Rehage, founder and independent producer of the
annual VOODOO MUSIC EXPERIENCE. I am in awe of the generosity and
kindness of so many people and cities who are reaching out to provide us a
home for this year's festival, the artists who are offering to perform
and our fans and sponsors who are providing their continued support and
patience during this difficult time. We look forward to harnessing
this energy into something truly great for this community that so many of
us, our friends and family call home.
Details will be released as soon as the information is confirmed.
Original tickets will be honored, however, refunds are available by phone
or at any Ticketmaster location. As for next year's event, the goal
is to return to Voodoo's hometown of New Orleans. Stay tuned for
additional updates and information regarding the 2005 VOODOO MUSIC
EXPERIENCE.
We thank you for your patience during these difficult times.
It's hard to appriciate what they're trying to do without looking outside my window and seeing all these people I've lived with for years..not at home because pine tree's have torn through their house's. It hard to understand that they REALLY AREN'T doing it for just the money..when I can take a ride 5 minutes away from here and see nothing but leveled houses, trailes, and to see yachts upside down in the tops of the tree's that didn't just ripped out of the ground by their roots. It's really hard to not be pissed at the people in Texas that are probably all excited and thanking Katrina for bringing this wonderful musical event to them..when I've been eating MRE's for the past week...It's just hard.
