This is pathetic.
Don’t gay activists know the political stand that the Singapore government has? Singapore has a theory of social development and with that, everything that is put in place or changed, has to be for the social good. Penal code, laws and regulations included. And because of its absolute reliance on globalization, most of the change is done for the economic good.
One has to understand that there are many forms of democracy. Though ill informed individuals will think that the idealistic form of democracy is what every government should strive for. This is not the case. Adopting the developmental form of democracy, Singapore has achieved what it is today. Hence, the thought of even the government changing that thought is almost impossible.
Too complex for our Gay activists to understand? To put it simply, the authority here does not represent the individuals, they represent the country and for all that is good. If we should lobby for the change of the Penal code, a compelling argument on how Gays in Singapore has contributed to the good and the well being of the country. I understand it is unsetting that humanitarian values are not taken into consideration here, but THAT IS THE WAY IT IS HERE. One has to understand the way the game is played here and learn to play it right. If not, it falls onto deaf ears.
Any country in the world would know that for a spokesperson, he/she has to be “clean” (no dirty laundry). And what can you expect when the spokesperson for gay people is also running gay spas and indulging in sex, serial dating and drugs? A Doctor that has sex and drugs in his closet? What are they trying to achieve? GIVE ME A BREAK HERE!
In my honest opinion, the gay people here are only known for the sex and the drugs. This is disappointing considering I know so many high level executives who are gay and in some ways contributing to the bottom-line of the society. The 4th estate is also not used by our “brilliant” gay activist, media has always reporting on the negative side of the gay culture here in Singapore. Think about it? If the 4th estate is not to your favor, you think you can challenge even the authority?
Honestly, I am quite happy that the penal code has not been changed. Because if it is not, the gay people here will reach a point of no return, where god knows what might happen to the society. If any gay activists here wants to make a stand, they have to put in place a full campaign. Everything has to be followed through like in a 20-men WoW raid. Constantly getting support from foreign gay activists, media and top gay people in any industry to make a stand. It is not a one-hit battle but rather a campaign that could last ages. I mean even the run for presidency in USA starts a year before the election!
Meanwhile looking at the way these gay activists are “making” a point, I would still say,
It is Pathetic.
