I've been amassing them for a few years now. Excluding the reference books, I've skimmed all of them and read most sections of about half while either on the elliptical, in the bathtub, or waiting places. The ones I've starred were the most worthwhile for me, I think. The others are a lot of the same. The research books I've purchased for emergence are far more interesting!
Do you have any you'd recommend?
You should come to the Break Out Novel Workshop with me in September.
I only have three how-to books: James Frey, How to Write a Damn Good Novel; James Smith, Jr., Fiction Writer's Brainstormer; Evan Marshall, The Marshall Plan for Novel Writing. Oh, I forgot that Jeff Herman's Guide to Book Publishers, Editors & Literary Agents has some interesting tips at the back.
I blush to disclose I haven't really read any of them, but know I should. Sigh. The guilt...the guilt...
Love to go to the seminar. It's just that the price is a bit steep. I'll have to rely on your report.
The icon is called The Hand of God. It's from a recent NASA photo.
I hope you like Getting the Words Right as much as I do. I was skimming #35 about word sounds. Cheney gives a clear example and explanation. So now I get it. I just have to figure out where it's needed.

Most of the ones I've purchased have to do with Celtic mythology and fantasy writing specifically. I'll post this weekend, I hope.
I brought Cheney with me to read at lunch, if I get time for one. :)
(*shivers* Just considered that might be interpreted as Dick Cheney.)
