Intro: Let's have a look... 10 years later...
“Morimoto,” Ryo called out. “Watch it, there’s another one.”
“What is this anyway?” Morimoto wanted to know.
“Stray energy,” Ryo explained, gathering some energy between his hands as well. “It’s a forbidden technique, but highly effective.”
He cast a similar energy blast and threw it right into the sphere that was hunting him and his apprentice, making it dissolve altogether. Silence spread around them and Ryo sighed.
“If it’s forbidden, why do you know how to do it?” Morimoto wanted to know.
“What are you talking about?” Ryo said agitatedly. “How am I supposed to fight things that I don’t know. It’s only natural I know how these things work.”
“Ah,” Morimoto nodded, a grin coming to his face.
His trainer was something of a rebel, he already knew that. There were many things he could learn from him, though.
“Sorry, I’ll stop asking stupid questions,” he apologized.
“No, it’s fine,” Ryo assured him. “Never stop asking questions. Even when you can’t find all the answers, it’s a good thing to walk through this world with your eyes and mind wide open.”
“Wow, that’s really deep,” a voice behind Ryo said amusedly. “Whoever taught you such cheesy lines?”
Ryo turned around. He blinked. Next he stared. Then he smiled.
“Long time no see,” he stated casually.
“Indeed,” Koichi agreed. “How have you been doing?”
“Well, someone had to… keep doing that job,” Ryo shrugged.
“You seem to be doing it well too,” Koichi mused, tilting his head. “And who is this young man?”
“He’s my trainee,” Ryo explained. “Morimoto-kun. He’s very adapt. I’m sure he can go collecting by himself soon.”
Koichi took a good look at the boy standing by Ryo’s side.
“What do you know?” he chuckled, smiling genuinely. “Time sure does fly. Hello, there, young man.”
“Er… hi,” Morimoto greeted him timidly.
“My, shy kid,” Koichi laughed. “Reminds me of someone,” Koichi winked at Ryo.
“You’re just trying to cover that you were attracted to me,” Ryo grinned.
Koichi blinked. “Why would I try to cover that? You’re cute, modest, determined, loving… If it hadn’t been for… him, I would have hit on you for real. Who knows where we would be?”
“Who knows?” Ryo mumbled, smiling at Koichi. “How is Tsuyoshi?”
“Oh,” Koichi suddenly burst out. “I almost forgot. The reason I’m here.”
“The spirit,” Ryo analyzed. “What do you want with it?”
“Not me,” Koichi opposed. “We met someone… He has moved on to this level and he’s looking for her. We are pretty sure that if we get them together, she can join him without another transformation.”
“So, you’re not gonna give up on her, are you?” Ryo asked cheerfully.
“No way,” Koichi grinned.
“In that case I suppose there’s nothing I can do,” the younger man sighed.
Morimoto stared at his trainer in disbelief.
“I mean, I cannot bring my trainee in danger,” Ryo continued. “Not to mention that I would never stand a chance against your skillful techniques. I had better head back and report to Yamashita-san. It seems we have an outlaw on the run.”
Koichi grinned at him. “Yeah, maybe you should do that. Tsuyoshi’s perfectly fine, by the way. We’re eight people now.”
“Yeah,” Ryo smirked. “If I remember correctly, Nagase-san was the latest victim to your `unthinkable ideas´.”
“Well, he always hated the office work anyway. I’ll tell him you said hi,” Koichi smiled.
“Please, do that,” Ryo said with a bow.
“And you give my regards to Yamashita,” Koichi added. “Congratulations on his promotion.”
“He’s been the head of house for more than ten years,” Ryo laughed.
“Well, then I guess he hasn’t heard that in a while,” Koichi winked. “Okay, now I have to run and fetch a spirit.”
“Right,” Ryo said, his eyes glittering at the sight of Koichi.
“Take care,” Koichi grinned as he waved his good-bye.
And the second later he was literally gone with the wind.
“Ah, so he did learn how to do that,” Ryo chuckled.
“Ne, Ryo-kun?” Morimoto asked, looking after Koichi. “Who was that?”
“That,” Ryo stated cheerfully, “is a very dangerous man. When you see him, turn and run.”
“But how do you know him?” Morimoto kept insisting.
“You shouldn’t be so nosy, you know,” Ryo scolded him lightly.
“But you said it’s okay to ask questions,” Morimoto said with a pout.
At that Ryo blinked at him. Then he laughed.
“Yes, well… I guess so.”
“So?” the boy asked, looking at him expectantly.
“Yeah, you see… you can ask any question that you want. But, you know, every so often it will happen that you won’t find an answer to your questions. I think it’s my duty to teach you that too.”
“Did you guys have an affair?”
“Oi,” Ryo explained. “That will be enough. You better keep a hold on that boyfriend of yours, instead of fantasizing about my sex-life.”
“But Yuri-kun is already my one and only,” Morimoto stated firmly.
“Well, that’s good to hear,” Ryo chuckled. “Let’s go and get him. I guess he’ll be waiting.”
“And hungry.”

“Nishikido.”
Ryo cringed slightly at the voice. Even so, he showed a bright smile as he turned around.
“Good afternoon, boss,” he said cheerfully. “We’re back early.”
“So I see,” Yamapi nodded. “Say, your last job… what happened exactly?”
“Oh yeah, we… we ran into… trouble,” Ryo explained vaguely.
“Trouble,” Yamapi repeated, raising a brow. “You couldn’t by chance be any more precise?”
“Nah, you’ll read it all in my report,” Ryo assured him.
“Yes,” the other nodded. “Like the last one.”
“What was wrong with my last report?” Ryo asked innocently.
“Nothing,” Yamapi grumbled. “It was utterly perfect - for anybody who is fluent in French.”
“Well, the reference text I used about the creatures involved was entirely in French, so…”
Yamapi sighed. “Just tell me you didn’t do something that will get me in trouble.”
“Boss,” Ryo said, looking stern, “I did nothing that could fall back on you.”
“Well, that’s fair enough for me, then,” Yamapi sighed, rolling his eyes.
“Okay,” Ryo nodded cheerfully. “Oh, by the way.” He flashed a playful smirk at the other. “Koichi says hi.”
With that he turned around, leaving Yamapi standing there, blinking in shock.

The water is shimmering, the stars sparkling in it like diamonds. It looks so beautiful, it makes you think that if the world has so much beauty, there must be something good for you in it too. And maybe, just maybe there is. No, it’s not like it’s impossible to go on. But maybe it’s just clinging to something you’re used to. Holding on with all your might. In the end it’ll be to no avail. You cannot hold onto it forever. So, why not let go, when you feel the time is right? The wind starts blowing, giving you a slight chill. Or did something just swish by?
“Hi.”
You stare. Right next to you on the balustrade of the bridge there is a young man sitting. He’s smiling at you. Unable to say anything, you just keep staring at him. Why is he here? What does he want?
“I’m Koichi,” he introduces himself. “So… you wanna die tonight?”

[ “You’re such a player,” Tsuyoshi complained.
“What?” Koichi asked, annoyed. “It’s easier like that.”
“You just like to flirt,” his lover accused.
“I do,” the other confirmed. He grinned at Tsuyoshi. “But I love… you.”
“Oh, you,” Tsuyoshi scoffed. “You’ve really put some kind of spell on me.”
“Who knows,” Koichi grinned mysteriously. “I know another spell, or two that you might like as well…” ]

LOL! Koichi is such a tease. XDDD I hope you liked it. I thought it would be cool if Ryo kind of took Koichi's position, doing things like that. Nagase has finally found his place too and everything seems to be going well. So, this is really it now. Owari. m(__)m
