Doooom

Well, as most of you don't know, I've been looking for a job. It's been a bit tough, between a lack of adequate transportation among other things. Also I seem to have trouble getting my foot in the door anywhere since all of my experience (what little there is) is out of state. So this means I need to get a crappy job here for a while until I manage to get something better, since we're rather broke. And the roomie is in debt to herself... well, her own college fund.

So, I did something that I said I'd never do again (should have known better) and put in an application at a fast food place. McDonalds. I worked at Dairy Queen for a while when I was in school. It sucked, but probably not too much more than the cashier job I got at Lowe's after that.

And that was... geez, towards the end of July. Maybe the 27th? I didn't get a call back. I wasn't sure whether I should feel indignant or relieved, but in any case, they didn't seem interested and I went back to searching the job listings.

Well, I got a call from them this afternoon. Just my luck that I'd been having trouble sleeping, and so I was still in bed trying to get some rest. I do so love answering the phone when I'm still mostly asleep.

It was kind of a 'Bzuh?' thing. I know they usually give you 60 or some odd days on applications, but I never expected to have them call me a month later.

So I'm supposed to go in at four tomorrow and talk to this Tom guy. Oh man.

Impending doom. But, I shall persevere. I'll rent my soul to the fast food company for a while. It'll help get us caught up on the bills, and then I can buy manga again!

And hopefully get a less crappy job in the near future.

Keep focused on the good points. Yep. That's the way.

Y'know, assuming I don't totally flub the interview, but considering the people who work there already? I'd probably have to put in a conscious effort to do that.

In other news, I've been working on icons. Once I get a decent number done I'll probably post them up here or something.
