So I've been having this sense lately that probably some of the economic problems going on are a by-product of the Baby Boomers. This theory started to form for me when I started seeing that every job I applied to wanted 5, 7, or 10 years of experience. Or they said things like "you must have ____ published games/works." Then I thought about it a little more and realized that the Boomers are the ones who created the housing bubble. I don't know anyone under thirty who could keep up and most of the 30-somethings I know aren't much better off. They're the ones who have gotten to the top and have decided that they like it and aren't leaving. They're the ones driving a new car every two years and trading up in houses every three. It pisses me off to see us all struggling because they're not only more experienced, but because they've been driving the market for 30 years (coincidentally, that's basically how long the Republicans have been in charge).
And apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks this...
http://seekingalpha.com/article/103202-the-shallowest-generation?source=front_page_editors_picks I can only hope that maybe, just maybe, this election will wake up this generation enough to start us pushing the Boomers out of the way.
