Bagel, how I love thee
neschen posted THIS post about eateries in Los Angeles, and just happened to mention bagels. I had forgotten how much I love them, but since The Return I've had 6 of them! Let me just say that for any of you planning on moving to New York (wayward_one , onthesnap ), bagels should be a major part of your criteria. They are better here than anywhere else on the planet.
For the past two mornings I've had a sesame bagel with scallion schmear and tomatoes, which I think is my new favorite combination. It's only 2 bucks too! My other favorite combination is an onion bagel with egg, bacon, and extra cheese, but that's heartburn.gov so I can't get that too often.
If it's not breakfast I enjoy a good whitefish salad, but that's heartattack city as well. I'm not really a lox fan though, which is weird becuase I like smoked meats and like salmon, I just don't like smoked salmon.
