I went up to the Bay Area for
AIDS Walk San Francisco this weekend, and it was amazing!!! Even though I am exhausted today, getting to work with the AWSF staff this weekend was definitely worth it. Since I got this job, very few of my friends have come to the AIDS Walk (although they have been very generous about donating), but I can't understand why. They have all the elements of a wonderful day. Food, tons of attractive gay men, activities galore, celebrities (tho one can only see Deborah Gibson so many times), and getting to be outdoors. The really magical part is that the whole event is endowed with the spirit of changing the world for the better. The San Francisco event is even cooler than LA or New York because after the Walk is done tons of the teams have barbeques. Williams Sonoma grilled salmon, and the Marriot Team served their barbeque from silver chafing dishes! The best thing was the Chevron barbeque trailer
Anyway, I don't want to go on unnecessarily, but everything about this weekend was wonderful. I got to see a few parts of the
AIDS Memorial Quilt, I got to see staff members that I rarely see, I got a whole bunch of free delicious food, and spend two days in a beautiful park. Bitchin'.
I uploaded the pictures from my digital camera to a yahoo photo album. Click
HERE to see them. They include pictures of me with Debbie (ugh, Deborah) Gibson, Jai Rodriguez, Hal Sparks, and 4 different drag queens! There are also some lovely shots of the Goldengate Bridge and a whole bunch of random shots taken along I-5.
