This weekend we rented a car and drove to Washington D.C.
We visited Meg and Ryan, my old roommate and her husband, where we played carcasonne and went to Ihop. Saturday, we forgot we were poor and went to an amazing wedding in this small chapel, Our Lady of the Americas. The wedding was interracial, an Irish girl and a man from Trinidad. The wedding was complete with a bagpiper who walked us to the Cosmos Club (where Woodrow Wilson was a member and this girl's dad was head chief). We were greeted with bongos and cocktails and red bandannas to wave while dancing. Crabcake for dinner...amazing! Then fun dancing and meeting people I didn't know. It was great to meet another group from UD; it gave me some perspective. Then off we went to Kent Island to visit my housemate's family.

We spent Sunday with family: cousins, aunts, uncles, second cousins, grandma. We got ice cream, went to visit grandpa in the cemetery. Then, we went to the beach and watched parasailors near the Bay bridge. Children's mass, where all the family members were involved (lectors, em, sunday school teachers). We then too a bike ride to a private beach and took silly pictures with the cousins and returned home for dinner with Father. At night we looked a family pics and prayed a rosary in grandma's room all ten of us! We sat out on the porch beside a fire and enjoyed the stars....

Monday we got up said our goodbyes and headed back to DC. We valet parked our car at the University Club and wandered down to the White House. We walked the block, had a japanese tourist take our pic, and sat on a bench enjoying the view and our starbucks. Later, we returned to the club to meet another uncle, aunt, and cousin. Then, we had to return home....to our real life and job.

This weekend was amazing. The conversations and moments were all blessed. We have grown so much. Jesus is our hope and our guide. A few quotes from the weekend:

"I don't even know what road we're on!" both of us

"I was going to take him out...I'm glad I didn't" Peggy about being pregnant and wanting to kill Bob

"He loved Jesus as much as me, and that was what really mattered" Peggy
