Is Slovenia still there?

Apr 15, 2004 18:52

I'm aware that the country's becoming a recurring theme in this journal, but its presence on the 'net is starting to drive me mad. The website which contains the information I need was apparently updated on the 31st of March - however, no new content is visible. Moreover, the Slovene embassy websites in both Sydney and London are down, and the US one offers nothing helpful in my case!

Whichever deities are responsible for the internet, would you mind glancing towards Slovenia online? Please?

Today's icon is Gabriel Byrne, in another attempt by me to get liveable HP images into my head before the actual actors get stuck there.

Pointless Fact of the Day: Marie Claire magazine informed me this afternoon that "less than 1% of Iraqi women have access to the internet."

Why this particular statistic has any relevance given the current state of affairs in Iraq, I don't know. Yes, the 'net is all-pervasive these days, but I'd have thought safety, peace, a central government, decent hospitals, local business, trade and education were all things that would cause more problems by their absence than Internet Explorer.
