Sometimes get togethers that are organized at the last minute are very rewarding.
The past couple days has provided evidence of that. New Years Eve was destined to be spent watching BBC's Merlin and drinking some rockin' wine. But that did not pan out. Instead, I drove south at a mad pace to make potato leek soup at Kristy's, eat some pork awesome, drink a sufficient amount of Akira provided beverage, and enjoy the good company of good friends. I just wish that I picked a better sleeping spot.
New Years Day I trekked from South Portland to Buxton to have breakfast with the Koch clan and then booked it to Brooks. At Chez Troutman, I met wonderful people from the eastern bits of Maine (Belfast and the surrounds). I had good food, good conversation, and just plain goodness. On the way to Brooks, I saw the wind turbines in Freedom, which reminded me of Germany. I hope I see more turbines like that in the future here in Maine.

In other news. I said Slumdog Millionaire was great, and it really is. Telling about the movie would spoil it. However, the tension built through the movie is just amazing. Bottle Shock is good, but has very slow build up.
