Yesterday I hauled 3 loads of crap the previous owners left behind at the house. The man who used to live there owned a car lot, I think a pet project of his was an older Ford Ranger, because he had tons of parts left from it. A couple of truck hoods, a tailgate, dashes, grills...etc. I hauled it all to the dump. It was actually kinda fun, it was a beautiful day and I was outside for most of it.
Yesterday I also bought a double sink and a base cabniet for the kitchen from the ReStore. Today Jill and I are heading up to home depot when she gets off work to buy new kitchen counters. We will take them to the house tonight, and go out there tomorrow morning to install the new counters. This should be fun. It will be my first time to do it, so I am excited. I will install the new sink and put a top on the new base cabniet that I bought as well.
This weekend Jill will be working on painting the 2 upstairs guestrooms. They are aweful colors right now that do not blend well with any of the other paints in the house. One room is a bight cranberry the other is a bright turquoise. BLAH. She will have to prime those like crazy LOL.
It has been fun taking our time moving in...giving us a chance to get a few odds and ends done to the place. I know we will be doing a bit here and a bit there for a long time...I hope it never gets old.
In other news, I gave my mom her 50th birthday present a bit early. We are sending my mom and dad to Vegas. I booked the trip, airline and hotel after making sure they could get the time off. She was so excited....she has never been to Vegas. Even though it is not a long trip, I am sure she will have a great time. It was neat how we sent the gift...we mailed her a package with her birthday cards, a CD, and the iteneraries folded up. I was on the phone with her so I told her what order to open them. First the cards...she cried LOL. Then the CD. Jill designed and printed the jacket...on the front it said Happy Birthday, on the inside it had trivia of the area, in the end it instructed her to insert the CD and watch her trip unfold and practice practice practice. The CD was a video gambling game from the hotel that we are sending them to. LOL. Toooo funny. Anyway...needless to say they are all so excited and I am happy that I was able to do this for them. I miss them and love them so much!
OK...I better get my butt in gear to get ready to pick out kitchen counters.
