Peripherals and books

The new keyboard is nice, but sometimes I occasionally put my right hand on the keys left of the ones I'm going for. It's the ergonomics of it... curved, and the keys in the middle take up slightly more realestate, which I guess makes sense given the few HCI principles I've learnt. The mouse (or rather the software that came with it) has a magnifying feature, which is rather handy - I now have a handy response to anyone who complains about my resolution being too small - kachow! Magnified, baby.

Oh, I picked up Lois McMaster Bujolds A Civil Campaign whilst I was "working" in Whitcouls. $15 for a hardcover, not bad. I suspect the price was marked down because of the cover art. Given the nature of the usual political intrigue and intergalactic war, this cover might be a tad off the mark for appealing to invested readers, the way it's got froo-froo out the wazoo. Justifiable given that it's the story of how Miles Vorkosigan wins his future wife, but ultimately not good. It's a great read as expected. I may have to start making some orders on Amazon.com once I have some money, since I've declared this to be my favourite sci-fi book series, and I haven't even read half of them yet.
