Yes, you are my starship, come take me up tonight

Over on my humor blog a new MiSTing started its sharing. And I went on with a bunch of nonsense, not all based around wherever the heck area code 661 might be. Want to see more? Sure you do; it's all right here ...

As promised yesterday, the parade was done, but you know what comes after that at Silver Bells? Why, the big thing, of course ...

And now we've had the parade, we've had the community sing with the song nobody knows and can't follow, what's next? The tree-lighting! The tree (left) is here not lit, but just give it a count down from ten and ...

There we go! Looking bright and the star on top is even vertical this year!

And oh, what's this behind the capitol? Is it a smattering of jpeg artifacts?

No! It's an alien spaceship putting on a Santa hat to tractor-beam the capitol!

So the drone light show was a bit more sophisticated this year and provided some decent images such as a somewhat three-dimensional ornament hanging here.

The Detroit Lions logo got a huge round of applause and caused us to learn the Lions were having a good season last year (12-5, winning two rounds in the playoffs and losing the conference championship 31-34).

And now a river dragon comes by to swallow the city. Grab hold of your floatation device!

This drew a good round of applause since who these days doesn't love lansin? (The logo hadn't finished lighting.)

Enough drones. Now on to the fun stuff, explosions!

Ah, we've got that flying saucer blowing up now, good for 300,000,000 points and lighting an extra ball!

Got some nice little streaks of firework almost centered on the capitol dome here.

And here's a giant dandelion resting on top of the capitol dome! I should enter this in the county fair.
