Arrived in Aus on Friday morning abput 9.55. Just past midnight back home.
Accom isn't too great, bit dirty and the like. Removed about 10 spiders on our first day (I was assured none were poisonous!) 2 weeks till we move into the motel. Roll on that day.
Weather is pretty good. On the first day, there was a tropical storm overnight, you could hear the drops hammering the rooftops. By the time we woke up, you couldn't have guessed a drop had been spilt. It's just incredible.
It's so warm that the bottom branches of the palm trees are wilting and people around here are claiming it's too cold.
Been here 2 full days and played 2 games of cricket already - they're working us pretty hard. Fielded 60 overs (dropping a catch!) and got out for 0 on Saturday. I walked caught behind after the (our team) umpire had shaken his head.
Today we played an Overseas XI against a mixed Redlands team. Bowled 3 overs, 1 maiden, 1 for 2 (Possibly my best figures ever) and scored a slow and laborious 24*. We lost.\
Pretty tired now and glad they're skipping the fitness session tomorrow in favour of nets.
Oh yeah, out here with a good bunch of guys. Someone from the Carribean (but white) who's just finished at Merchy, a Glamorgan county second eleven all rounder who's bowled out Ricky Ponting and Damien Martyn in nets and had ribs broken by Simon Jones, and some other Englishmen whom I haven't got to know too well yet.
