Are the options mutually exclusive? If I submit 5 icons, can I submit, say, 2 icons for option 1 and 3 for option 2? Or must all 5 be for one option? Thanks!

Not at all! You can mix and match options in your set, combine the options in one icon or all icons--however you see fit. And it will still be eligible for set voting, of course :)
