A link for Ourdramaqueen and you other Sherlockians. It's the Youtube Hitler Parody version of Hitler's reaction to Reichenbach Fall! Even Hitler goes mad for the eyesex! There are a few others like this but this is good for those of us needing a vent. :Dhttp://www.youtube.com/

I'm actually re-reading the entire SH canon just to see if I can figure out HOW HE FUCKING DID THAT. It's driving me crazy.

Heh heh heh. Actually I doubt canon had much to do with it. I've read a few theories and so far I agree with those who say he jumped into a truck filled with squashy stuff, then dropped onto the pavement. John's obscured viewpoint meant he didn't see the entire fall, and it was edited so we didn't see it either. Can't wait to see if that's right!

I agree, that's the most plausible theory. The truck with laundry/garbage bags conveniently waited to leave until just after Sherlock jumped... and that low building prevented John from seeing the last bit of the fall - and why else would Sherlock have told him to walk back and then stay exactly where he was?

Argh and we'll have to wait another year plus to find out... *sob*

Yes, and the scenario was one that had to fool the watching assassin as well. Gods, just film it already!

I read a bit of canon and was surprised to find Watson didn't even witness the supposed fall. Sheesh, a bit of a cop-out there, Conan Doyle.

Yes - hence John being called away in TRF. Thank goodness they departed from canon for the fall itself, though!

God yes. A bunch of footprints, honestly! John would never be fooled by that!

He'd certainly keep doubting without seeing a body, even though the fact of Sherlock not coming back would indicate that he was dead - he has no reason to believe Sherlock wouldn't contact him if he was alive, even if he was in hiding. But yes, just accept it, without real evidence? Never. Which I'm sure was why Sherlock needed John to see him fall, and see him lie there apparently lifeless. He needed him to be convinced of his death, because then everyone else would be convinced too.

OMG WHY AREN'T THEY WORKING ON S3 YET?!

Yes, it had to be very convincing. And it was clever! Without the Net I doubt I would have a clue how it was done.

I DON'T KNOW WHY DO THEY WANT TO SEE US SUFFER? *goes off into Hitler stroppy*

Then how do you explain the headstone, and the dead body and everyone convinced that he's dead? You can't just buy a space in a graveyard and put up a headstone for the fun of it, and somebody must have been lying there covered in blood. I think it might have something to do with Sherlock replacing himself with Moriarty, who was already dead, but I can't figure out HOW HE DID THAT GODDAMNIT. (I disagree that canon has nothing to do with it. The actual answer may not be in the original stories, but the thought process behind the actions is in there, and that's what I'm trying to find - the way of thinking that will lead to the answer.)

One thing I have been thinking about a lot is the way they've changed Sherlock's character for this series. They've turned him into a serious jackass, and that's my one complaint about the series. I've brought this up and some people have replied that it's because modern times are different, etc., but I don't buy that at all. This is not the modern version of Holmes's character - Holmes was never ( ... )

The headstone - I reckon Mycroft is in on this. Because Mycroft is extremely powerful and could arrange that easily. And if he wasn't, others are in on it, like Molly. She arranged the blood and she could take care of the 'body'. Closed coffin, quick funeral, no open casket, it's doable.

Why don't you think it was Sherlock lying there? A convincing fake body would be hard to create at short notice. I disagree with those talking about a 'mask' - no. A real person jumped, not a dead or fake body. How could a dead body be thrown off without someone seeing it? Sherlock just had to lie still, get covered in blood by his helpers, and use the little rubber ball we saw him playing with earlier in his armpit - apparently that hides a pulse, so John wouldn't have found one.

Yes, BBC Sherlock does behave like an arse compared to canon Holmes, childish sulks etc - and I must admit I like him like that. I don't mind the change of character. Fair enough that you don't.
