How can you not want to go see Snow Cake when people like this keep saying how brilliant it is?
"I saw Snow Cake at the Edinburgh Film Festival this past summer and was stunned. I love Alan Rickman, so that was the main reason I wanted to see it. It was perhaps the best movie I have ever seen. The story line is so beautifully human, and it is depicted in a light and comical manner. I saw ads for its release in Britain, but I have heard nothing about it here in the US. I am SO confused...Sigourney Weaver deserves an Oscar nomination for her performance. Why has it not received any press?! It would be quite impossible to find a person who didn't love this movie. It will change your perception of film and of life."
I keep forgetting I can actually go see it this month. I need to start getting excited. But I haven't even seen the trailer for it. I was afraid that year ago when it was shown at the Berlin Film Festival that it would be a movie we'd never get- like The Search for John Gissing- so I didn't want to get excited about it. Turns out that was a good idea cuz it's been forever since Berlin not to mention we were supposed to get it in December and didn't.
But yes, I have been reminded it's coming out this month. I will be wearing my cardigan to the show even if it's hot. And I'm still not sure if I want to see the trailer. Maybe I'll wait until they start showing it on TV so I can be sure I will actually get to see it. Ha ha.
(I'll keep you posted on how much I love it. Ha ha.)
