I finally attended Dragon Con! I had a blast along with
doubtinsalmon42 .
You can see my pics and vids here:

So I got to see Matthew Lewis (Neville from HP) who was adorable. And sick, the poor boy. But he was very nice and gave out a 'cough sweet' to someone he had apparently gotten sick the day before because he coughed near her. Heh. Someone asked him who he liked working with on set and he said Rik Mayall who actually filmed scenes as Peeves for the first movie but they cut him out. He reckons it was because no one could act around him without laughing. After praising Rik's comedic talents, he said Alan Rickman- who's the finest actor in the world ever. I mean, the things he's done- Sheriff of Nottingham! And Gary Oldman... You think they're just people you work with until you step back a bit and realize all the amazing movies they've done.
He said he wishes the scene in St Mungo's with Neville's parents and Lockhart was in the film. He said the theme park is going to be AMAZING. Anything you see in the films, you can do and it's on such a big scale it's not just a theme park of Hogwarts, it feels like you're really there.
He would love to play Harry or a bad boy. He perfers the action Neville to the shy one in the beginning. He says he's very much like Neville- clumsy and forgetful. He left his keys on the plane coming over and he needs them because the airport is 40 minutes from his house in England. Poor thing.
He wants to do comedy roles after HP but he doesn't know if he could do them. He said he wants to keep acting because it's the only thing he can do. The audience 'aww'ed at that and he said, almost annoyingly, "Don't 'aw.' It's my own fault."
He went on to say he lives with three students, he's the only one who isn't at university, and said he really hates students. Heh.
Someone asked about filming riding on the Thestrals. He said they had these plates that were moulded to their backs and then were hoisted up 10 feet in the air with a harness on. Once they took the fake thestral out from under him, his back brace thing snapped in half which jerked him up- harness going in too tight where it shouldn't. Heh. He even stood up to outline with his hands where the harness goes. I'm sure the fangirls were drooling at that point. ;)
So then we went to see Sean Astin.
doubtinsalmon42 will probably praise him more than me. He talked A LOT and wanted the sound guys to give him a 3 min buzzer so he could actually get to all the questions. He was also nice. I have a crappy photo of him.
We also went to a Dr Who panal which had almost 500 people in attendence. We just talked about the new series and mused on the next season. Everyone loved Donna and lots of people said they weren't looking forward to her being in the show, as ds42 and I both thought, but then realized how amazing she was. That's where I got my pics of all the Dr Who's. There was another one in a suit and red converse but I didn't get his photo.
Also wish I could have tracked down that AWESOME Sweeney Todd for a photo. Maybe a fan will upload a pic at some point.
Ds42 and I wore the Tardis earrings she made- lots of people loved them. I also got two comments on my Snape shirt, and one girl came up and said how we had the same shirt on. Heh.
I was sad that there weren't many PotC characters or HP characters this year. Guess the movie hype helps with that. Altho, they may have just been wherever we weren't.
Only other thing I wish I could have seen was the RH panal the day before.
Shopping:
Found the Galaxy Quest soundtrack for 12 dollars. Been looking for that ever since I saw the movie about 6-7 years ago. Hah. Now, just need to find the nonexistent Blow Dry one and the very rare Quigley Down Under one.
Got an 8x10 pic of 9,10, and Rose for 6 dollars and another one of the House, M.D cast. Both amazing.
They had a signed pic of Jonas Armstrong from Robin Hood but nothing with Richard Armitage. *sad* Lots of Norrington and Jack Davenport pics and even a nice candid one of Geoffrey Rush and Jack at some party. Lots of Johnny Depp and, very surprising, about 20 of Liam Neeson. They also had a signed photo of Snape selling for $90. Yikes. Unfortunately, the signed John Simm pic was $10 more. Bah. Alan is way cooler than him. Big thanks to
doubtinsalmon42 who waited patiently for me to browse through all the pics and put up with me cooing over their adorableness.
I also bought a giant microbe for
drakien69 - a lil' green TB. So cute. Only $5 too.
