and that is yet another of the drawbacks to the american system. if everyone voted on the same day to start with - even for the primaries - then this issue would never have arisen. There might still not be a clear winner, but at least some of the victories would not be 6 months old, and two conventions ruled out because they held them early (or whatever it is).

Though I rate McCain over either Obama or Clinton I'd still prefer Democrats over Republicans as a whole...

And sadly the Obama vs Clinton debacle has divided their support so now Democrats may lose after all.
