Faceless International.

Last year I did nothing worthwhile. Yes, I worked so that this year I could pay off university as I go - and as such I have no HECS debt - but that was moreso a selfish pursuit.

A few months ago I discovered an organisation and decided to become involved. Faceless International is a human trafficking awareness and prevention organisation. What I particularly loved was the fact that it aims to get everyday people involved in being the change, in being an active part of dealing with these particular humanitarian issues, as opposed to many other organisations which seem more focused on raising money (which, yes, can be a very great and useful thing).
Being a relatively unknown organisation in Australia, I decided to contact their headquarters in America, and they were excited when I asked if I could head the Australian chapter. After they agreed, I started up the Facebook page, which is the branching off point for now.
At this point in time I am just being that annoying person on Facebook who says, "join this page!", and for the rest of this year will just be promoting. Next year I will start doing bigger and better things. According to the American HQ, Faceless International is organising a trip somewhere next year, and I'd love to get a few Aussies together to go. In previous years they have gone to Guatemala to look at the fair trade coffee scene, and to India to help out in slavery/trafficking affected communities.

Having been a fairly selfish person for these past few years, I am hoping I can start doing something actually worthwhile, no matter how big or small.
