concerts much?

This weekend was filled with music for me :) 4 concerts in total.
First was Friday at the Roxy for the Seeds Finals where THIS WEEK IN HISTORY played to a packed room and totally brought the house down! The audience response was amazing but they toally deserved it, in my opinion they SLAYED! For serious people, buy their disc, it's $5 VERY well spent and they are all handsome dudes, really, is there anything else you need?? i think not!

Afterwards, Rye and I strolled on over to the Commodore where Amon Tobin was playing his 5.1 surround sound DJ set. That was quite the experience, you are literally enveloped by the music. It swallows you whole and spits you back out, frequencies too low to hear were felt throughout my entire body, it was astounding!!!

Saturday was 'Ampstock'. A free show held out in Langley that the boys, (This Week In History) were playing at along with Hedley and others. I didn't know what to expect as i had never been before and as we were driving down the Langley Bypass I glanced over and saw a tent between two buildings and heard music and thought.....hmmmmm, guess that's where it is?!
Low and behold it was! There was a guitar shaped stage outside the "Amp" merch store, beer in some empty room next door and a hot dog stand. It was random and slightly ghetto....but we had a really good time! The boys played a great set and were busy signing autographs and taking pics with the kids that came out, that was really cool :)

Sunday was the White Stripes at Deer Lake Park. Aside from the thunder, lightening, rain and hale....that luckily all occured BEFORE the show we had fun :) The shite weather subsided for the entire concert, which was awesome. We spent alot of our time in the beer line up and i was half cut for the majority of the show so i had a GREAT time :P:P The stage set up was cool and all the roadies were wearing black suits, red ties and a black fedora. They only played for 1 hour and 20 minutes...which for a ticket that cost $65, kinda disappointing, but they did do a cover of an old Dolly Parton tune called 'Jolene' and that was rad!!

And that is my weekend concert wrap up.
In between all this I went to the antique shops in New West and bought 2 chairs for my apartment and they are WICKED!!! love those stores...LOVE THEM!
